The Word-Box  So, I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow. All four of them. O.O i is scared. So, um...some moral support would be hugely appreciated. Like, prayers from those so inclined, and just regular ol' good vibes from everyone, kind of thing. I'm gonna need all the help I can get, I think. o.O *eep* ~ Saphy ~ Current mood:  terrified.Current music: A Million Ways (To Be Cruel) - Ok Go. Guh, took too long to get back about the golf tournament. Had a fun time this year; was in charge of pics, as stated, and so just hung around with Dad at the hole he was supervising (there was a Closest to the Pin contest there, is why) so I could be sure to get everybody. Inbetween foursomes, we practiced putting on the green. Once we were back at the clubhouse, there was lunch, and a raffle with a bunch of prizes. I won a gift bag with some golf balls and like three pairs of athletic shorts. :B Also... So, the golf tournament has a 'traveling trophy', which is raffled off each year; the winner has use of it for a year, and then brings it back at the next tournament for it to be raffled off again. The trophy is a golf bag that looks like a giant Snickers bar. Logo all over it and everything. Pretty much all the golfers just think it's kind of a joke and just kind of humor us with it, but me, my family, and a handful of others think it's pretty cool. And I won it this year. XD Best part? I can't play golf to save my life. Seriously. I can't even get the ball off the ground. So...I will be filling it up with putters and taking it mini-golfing. In fact, that's what me and the family went and did this morning. ^_^ I may post pictures. Also, if any on the flist will be in the area, you are totally invited along. ^_^ Offer good until next August. Writing update: Chapter 23 just completed, to be sent along to Boz momentarily. 24 to be started later today. ^_^ School started this week. I have some pretty good classes (aside from writing stuff, am taking Yoga, of all things. Should be interesting), and have already been in conversations with two (2) boys. One came right up to me and asked if we'd met before, because I just looked so familiar to him and it had been bothering him all through class. ...That's, like, flirting, right? *is so pathetically clueless* Anyway, yeah. This is going to be a busy semester, what with school and now work to do. Yikes! ~ Saphy, off to write ~ Current mood:  hot.Current music: Invincible - Ok Go. Tomorrow is the big golf tournament thing my mom does for the alumni association every year. I again has been voluntold to help out. As with previous years, I will be the Official Unofficial shutterbug and take pictures of everyone over the course of the day. Will also be getting to drive a golf cart. Go me. ^_^ Writing update: Partway done on 23, should have more done by the end of the day. Also: School starts next week. In addition, work starts next week. XD ~ Saphy ~ Current mood:  lethargic.
First off: writing. Chapter 22 is done and off at the beta's. Initial reply says that the file will be back (with much comments this time) ASAP. I will note that this is the first chapter since 12 that's had enough notes about it that it actually needs to be sent back. The mind boggles. Went out boating with my aunt, uncle, and cousins at a nearby (er, relatively speaking...) reservoir today. The weather was gorgeous, warm but overcast, so that it didn't get obscenely hot, and a little breezy. I was brave and actually wore my swimsuit (with shorts over, of course), but didn't actually go swimming or get dragged behind the boat on a tube/wakeboard/other. I did go kayaking with one of my cousins, though (she's 14), and had a good time with that. And I took scads of pictures, naturally. Maybe I'm just biased, but I think the mountains around here are gorgeous. Actually, I've been taking a lot of pictures lately. We went up to Cascade Springs, a freshwater spring system up in the Uintahs, for Pioneer Day, and last Thursday, Mom and I had to go help with a work party up at a 1000 ACRE RANCH in Peoa. Lots of pics from those, and I had a really good time. (At the party, Mom and I did canoeing, for the first time ever, and did not fall into the water. And we drove around on ATVs as well. ^^) Have had a very busy, and very fun, couple of weeks, in other words. And I have something almost like a tan now! *le gasp* Or, well, at least I don't look like I glow in the dark anymore. Yay! XD And some awesome news: I have a job interview tomorrow! The position is a peer writing advisor in the Writing Center of the local community college. So, basically, my job would be beta-reading. ^.^ Pretty sweet, huh? As of this weekend, my family and I have lived in our current house for seventeen (17) years. The mind boggles. o.O I can still remember coming out to the building site when the house was under construction. I was four at the time. The workmen were all drinking lemon-lime Gatorade; I asked my dad why it was called that, and he told me that it was because it was made of alligators. He then asked if I wanted to try some. (Four-year-old me: O.O) Once the upstairs floor was attached, I got to go up, and they told me that this would be my room. I was terribly excited, until they put in the walls and I learned that only part of the upstairs was mine. Still, I got my own room instead of having to share with my baby brother, so I didn't mind too much. Kinda weird to think back about that, and know that we've been here for so long since then. Time flies, huh? ~ Saphy, reminiscing ~ Current mood: hungry.Current music: A Little Less Conversation (remix) - Elvis Presley. Got twice as much written last night as I thought I would, or rather, as I had planned to write. And got it finished an hour earlier than usual. ^_^ LWs is about to fight the Fiend of Fire. Ready, guys? And I writted that plot-bunny I caught from Boz. >:3 Cen and Estel: *still sniggering like loons at Rath's expense* Rath: *stopped ranting, is trying to gauge how angry Saphy will be if he just blows up Cen and Estel* Mwaha. Okay, more info on the birthday-ings that have been going on. Last Friday, I had a family party, and that was hugely fun. Played Mario Kart 64 with my cousins, uncle, and mom(!), and went swimming with said cousins as well. We made a maelstrom in the pool; it was pretty fun. ^^ I got a new Hawaiian-style shirt, a pair of earrings, and a ginormous, nice-smelling candle as presents. Also last week, Mom and I went birthday shopping, and I got the following: ~ two pairs of big, dangly earrings ~ volumes 6 and 7 of The History of Middle-earth (!!!) ~ Dragons of Winter Night ~ 100 Words Almost Everyone Confuses and Misuses I'm especially pleased about the HoMe books, since those are two of the ones that I haven't been able to find anywhere. *bounces* My brother also got me a couple of RiffTrax, which are, well, MSTings of popular movies, as done by the old MST3K crew. We have a bunch already, and Brother bought the ones for Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers. ^^ Have watched Two Towers so far, and it's hysterically funny. Okay, and an actual writing update now! Due to, well, recent circumstances, I haven't been able to get much done, but I've got my head sorted out enough that I've actually gotten some stuff written lately! Nearly done with Chapter 19 (FINALLY), and I'm working on research and planning for 20 and 21. So, yay! Progress! Was my birthday yesterday! *dancity* Got my favorite breakfast (Dutch pancakes), courtesy of my mom, then later we went out to dinner, did a little (read as: picked up one thing) shopping, and then we went to see a movie. Movie in question was 'WALL-E', that new Disney-Pixar flick, and it's very cute. A lot of fun; I definitely recommend it. And, of course, there has been loot: Princess Mononoke DVD a new jewelery box a silver-and-sparklies necklace Final Fantasy IV Advance (!!!) Apparently, more stuff will be got later. And tomorrow, we're having a bit family party at my aunt and uncle's house. There will be a barbecue, swimming, and playing N64 on a big screen TV. *beams* Light Warriors: *singing 'Happy Birthday'* *Cen and Estel doing so at the top of their lungs and off-key* Rath: *is not deigning to join in* Psh. Party pooper. ;p ~ Saphy, now 22 years old! ~ Current mood: happy.
